It hosts the famous Lal Durbar convention centre which features a wide variety of impressive halls under one roof like the Regal Ballroom, Durbar Hall, Regency Ballroom and Dynasty Ballroom. These halls are decorated with centuries old Newari wood carvings, adorned with intricate painting, antique mirrors, murals, gilded marble pillars and carved wooden ceiling.
